The non-street bike lanes, usually carved out of sidewalk, can be rather dangerous, as I slipped leftward curving on these cobblestones today going at top speed (at the base of a kilometer long downhill with nearly no interruption). Only by some kind of miracle, while edging along the curb, did I manage not to spill out, thereby saving a nice jacket and my osteal integrity, since I was for sure gonna sacrifice at least an ulna to the Parisian paving.These bike lanes are the worst for numerous other reasons, but the fact that they’re ironically paved in bike-unfriendly ways has to be the top reason.
